GMC has been one of the leaders in excellent trucks and continues to wow buyers every year. The 2020 GMC Sierra and 2020 GMC Canyon are leading the way for GMC. Two new installments in the Sierra and Canyon pickups improves these models.
Top Design Highlights
Both trucks adhere to a sharp design that is unique to the style that GMC has become known for. While the Sierra is much more streamlined and mirrors the technology taking place, the Canyon follows assertive style cues in its signature design. While both pickup trucks have integrated CornerStep back bumpers for easy access to the cargo bed, one style component they vary in is their illumination. The Sierra has GMC Signature C-Shaped LED Lighting for the headlights, for the Canyon there's projector-beam headlights with LED trademark lights. They share the very same size in base wheels, both 20-inches, however the Sierra has polished aluminum wheels and the Canyon has machined wheels.
Performance
With both vehicles powered by GMC engines, they offer different engine types depending on what the driver desires. The Sierra Denali has a 5.3L V8 engine that makes 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. On the other hand, the 2020 Canyon Denali is powered by a 3.6L V6 that makes 308hp and 275 lb-ft of torque. Both pickup trucks have 10-speed autos on 4WD versions and 8-speed automatic transmissions on 2WD versions. The MPG for both trucks are very similar, with the Sierra clocking in at 22mpg for 4WD and 23mpg for 2WD. For the Canyon, it gets 24 miles per gallon on the highway.
Technology Highlights
GMC has consistently had the driver's safety in mind when developing technology. The Canyon has a list of safety features consisting of new tire fill alerts, rear seat reminders, and HD rear vision video cameras for trailer safety. The Sierra also has a lot of devices to help drivers tow with confident control with the Prograde Trailering System. With that system, the Sierra has an in-vehicle trailering application, smart trailer integration, and impressive hauling capacity. Audio-wise, they both share Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility across an 8-inch diagonal GMC stereo system. The Sierra also offers a wireless charging pad for compatible smartphones within easy reach. For pick-up truck safety, both pickups provide a Teen Driver feature that urges safe driving habits. Depending on what you need from a pickup, the 2020 GMC Sierra and 2020 Canyon both provide excellent options for whatever you need.
