I brought my 2006 Pontiac Torrent into the shop because it would not start. At the time I believed that it was due to a security issue with the key. The serviceman told me that they needed to do a thorough inspection on the car before they could make a diagnosis. After the inspection they concluded that the problem was due to the battery moving around and striking the sensor. At the time I asked him if there was any recalls on the car. The servicemen said that he would check to see if there were any recalls and if their were he would get them fixed while the vehicle was in the shop getting the battery fixed in the tray. At that time he recommended that I get my fluids changed. The quote was very expensive. I explained to the serviceman that I did not want to get the fluids changed and then risk later to find out that I still had problems with the vehicle. I told him I really did not have that kind of money. He assured me six times that the vehicle had no other problems and that it would be a great benefit if I got the fluids changed. I explained to the serviceman that my funds were very limited and I had no room for some surprises coming up. He assured me again , so I went on and had the fluids changed (over $ 750). Last Saturday I came to pick up my vehicle and while driving it in the parking lot I noticed that the speedometer and middle panel was not working . And the car smelled like gas. I turned around and brought it back to the service area. The serviceman told me that I would not be able to get the car checked until the upcoming Monday. On Monday I spoke to the service man and he tried to say that the cars speedometer and panel broke while I was driving it in the parking lot. I was devastated. I have spent all my money on optional fluids when my car is still in need of repair. With tears in my eyes I pleaded to the serviceman to try to make good and fix the problem. Because these things were working when it last ran. He told me that he would check with the service technician and see what they could do. Two days later he called saying that the car was fixed and that I could come pick it up. I inquired about the gasoline smell and asked if the recall was fixed on the car. He said that he would have to keep the car for a few more days to get the recall fixed . The recall was the fuel pump module (leaking). That was why I was smelling gas in the car. I later eventually picked up the car; I was able to drive it 1 day and then the speedometer went out again. This time it happened while I was on the freeway. I almost got hit from behind by 18 wheeler. I am very disappointed in the service that I received from your dealership. This is not the dependable service that I grew up on. I am 55 years old and soon to retire in one year from my job with the state of Texas for 29 years. I know what it is to make a commitment and keep it . My father was a mechanic and a minister. He only drove Buicks and Cadillacs. He always said the best place to take your car to be fixed if you couldn't do it yourself would be to the dealership. This is why I brought my vehicle to you, because I wanted it fixed right the first time by someone that I felt like that I could trust. I am on a limited income. My funds are low because I just buried my 98 year old aunt in January and I support my 87 year old mother who has dementia. I drive 23 miles to work each way and have a desperate need for reliable transportation. This was my first Buick and it has sentimental value because it belonged to my deceased brother-in-law. Unfortunately I can not get a new car and it is going to be very difficult for me to come up with additional funds that I didn't foresee. I am in tears as I write this letter. I wish someone in your department could assist me with resolving this issue and renewing my faith in your brand that my father use to boost about.
I'm sorry I cannot recommend. I scheduled a service appointment for a simple oil change and tire rotation. That appointment took 2 1/2 hours. The reason I got was that there was new guys training. hmm. I don't have to take my car to the dealership, and next time I need service I don't believe I will.
Great dealership, friendly people, Greg is excellent at keeping you updated on progress, and getting your vehicle in and out asap. And leaving with a sparkling clean car, it's awesome! Love the morning coffee and snacks...and of course, the popcorn!!
The whole experience provided by Lauren Sohn was the best I have ever experienced. She cares about my need, she offered me options into getting my car taken care of, the valet was professional. Thank you again Lauren.
