2020 GMC Acadia: Features, Specs & Trims
The GMC Acadia was the automaker's initial entry-level crossover and the first Front-Wheel Drive passenger vehicle from GMC. While it's been a strong and trustworthy Sport Utility Vehicle, GMC needed to update the Acadia to compete with the brand new challengers that have been turning up like ants at a picnic. Will the updates be enough to contend in the hotly contested Sport Utility Vehicle segment? While not all of the information is available on the 2020 GMC Acadia, it seems it will undoubtedly be a solid challenger.
The brand-new Acadia is built on the same platform and is a mechanical twin to the new Chevy Blazer. That suggests that they both share the 2.5L 4-cylinder and the 3.6L V6 power plants mated to a 9-speed automatic. While all of the official numbers are not yet published, it is expected that both engines will be very similar in power and gas mileage. What's fascinating is that the Acadia will have an optional 3rd engine that's presently not optional on its mechanical twin. A new 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder will be standard on the SLT and Acadia Denali. This new turbocharged 4cyl is anticipated to create 237 horsepower, blending both power and fuel efficiency.
While the Blazer and Acadia may be mechanical twins, that is where the similarities end. Whereas the Blazer is developed to be sporty, the '20 GMC Acadia is purpose-built to provide a premium driving experience. The updated, bolder styling adds brand-new LED headlights and taillights with distinct C-shaped lighting while available 20-inch wheels and available warmed, power-adjustable, power-folding mirrors complete the spectacular upgrade. There is even an all-new, off-road variation, the first ever Acadia AT4. Inside you will discover 3 rows of seats with the choice of 6 or 7 passengers, real wood accents, and Smart Slide functionality in the 2nd row seats. Pleasant and elegant, the attention to detail is evident in the 2020 GMC Acadia.
The '20 Acadia includes an 8-inch touchscreen, an available 6-inch color HUD, available Rear Camera Mirror and Active Noise Cancellation. If safety innovation is what you want, there are two options on the Driver Alert Package. The Driver Alert Package includes Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Rear Park Assist. Choose the Driver Alert Package II and you'll get Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Alert, Front Pedestrian Braking, and Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning as a component of the package. The '20 GMC Acadia was designed to keep you safe in a crash, yet also to help you prevent one in the first place.
